Mythology
Hera was the daughter of the Titans Cronus and Rhea, and sister to Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Demeter, and Hestia. She was swallowed by her father Cronus at birth but later rescued by Zeus. She became Zeus's wife after he tricked her by transforming into a distressed cuckoo bird. Hera took pity on the bird and held it to her breast, at which point Zeus transformed back and seduced her. As Zeus's wife, Hera became the queen of the gods and the protector of marriage and family. She is known for her jealousy and vengeance against Zeus's many lovers and their children, particularly Heracles, whom she persecuted throughout his life.
